This here is where we set the game
straight. We tell you like it is. Even if you don't wanna hear it. Cuz if
your music stinks, I wouldn't be your homeboy if I told you it was the
bomb. So here it is.
Slim Shady comes back with his 3rd album and it is his most sober and in depth look at the life of Marshall Mathers. Em does what he does best and even gives you doses of new and more crossover material. And I personally love when an artist can show skills. That means just being descriptive and entertaining about whatever you talk about NOT what you talk about. Yeah, Em shocks the world on this one. Less gay bashing & drugs, and more of his ACTUAL life over a beat, more dissing other artists which include Cannibus and J.D. No longer just dissing pop icons and white groups. And for all those who thought Marshall was a sell out, I think he proved you wrong. This album shows more of his white background than any of his other albums that have been released. "Say Goodbye Hollywood" The hottest song on here! Marshall puts the whole divorce and problems with ex-wife Kim out in the first verse. Then he goes into how all the criticism and bad media made him want to quit but he must go on for Halie. And it's all fact. Not too many people can do something like this on this level. "Drips". On here, Em collabs with Obi Tryce to bring you some hot ish about nasty broads! This is a nice tag team and I would like to hear more collabs by them. This has to be one of the hottest tracks on here. "White America" Now here is something new from Em. He spits over a rock beat and talks about how the government condemns his music because of the effects it has on white kids. Tight shit. It may take a minute to work on the brothers but this is a cut. "Business" The Batman & Robin influence is truly evident on this track where Em refers to him & Dre as the Batman & Robin of Rap. Dr. Dre killed the beat and Eminem ices the cake with his lyrical performance. Hot ish! "MARSHALL!" "Square Dance" This track is nothing like the Mix A Lot track with the same title. Instead he takes this as the opportunity to diss those who have down talked his hard work. Cannibus, Chaos, and Moby are some of the victims to be mentioned. "Can-a-bitch don't want no beef with Slim, NOOOOOOOO!" Other hot songs include "Cleaning Out My Closet," "Superman," "Soldier," & "Say What you Say." The worst song on here is "Halie's song". Eminem knows he can't sing! He even starts the song off saying it. I guess he was just proving that he can do what he wants to do or that most pop groups can't sing. Either way, he made his point. But the funny part is that I think alot of his rock/pop fans will love this song! Em, stick to rappin! Yeah, it took several listens before I got the full effect of this album but it is tight. You know it's rare to get 5 stars on this site but his lyrics are that good. Go rush this album if you one of the few who are still sleeping. |
