This here is where we set the game
straight. We tell you like it is. Even if you don't wanna hear it. Cuz if
your music stinks, I wouldn't be your homeboy if I told you it was the
bomb. So here it is.
This is a nice universal sounding group. Emerging from Seattle, this band of artists is doing nothing more than be themselves and entertaining you at the same time. This has to be one of the nicest projects to come from Seattle. I like this album because it is rare for artist to be good at talking about anything other than killing or being hard. C.I. does this with precision over beats by Vitamin D. They've kept their guest appearance minimal so that you could be more exposed to their sound and I believe that was a good move. Every group can't do this. On to the songs. "Protocol" is hot! The beat is bangin and C.I. follows up with nice metaphors, similes and straight facts. However, the best song on here is "Dear Poppa." This is the broken home anthem. Many of us were raised by our mothers and had no clue where I dads were. I'm feeling this. Please believe it whoadie. Another hot track is "False Pride." Again these guys are dropping science and emotions. We all know someone who has false pride and I think these guys described it excellently. The beat is a little East sounding but still throwed! Other hot tracks include "Da Bump" (which I seen the perform on Hip Hop 101), and "In the Sea" "Get at me" is the worst song on here. I wasn't feeling it at all. Maybe it was too east for me. They could've left this track off the album. These guys combine science, facts, fun, and emotions over a more East production. I don't care for too much East Coast sound but these guys are definitely an exception. Get this crunk ish, ya heard! |
