This here is where we set the game
straight. We tell you like it is. Even if you don't wanna hear it. Cuz if
your music stinks, I wouldn't be your homeboy if I told you it was the
bomb. So here it is.
Young Have Not, formerly Y.P. (Young Pimpin) is trying to strike gold with his debut album, Major Leagues. Many of you may remember him from Mr. D.O.G.'s hit single, "Playa, Playa" where he began the track with straight heat or from several tracks off the Black Caesar projects. Now it's his turn and he has chosen to network with some nice artist for his freshman project. Those artists include Ju-L (formerly of Deathrow), Messiah (of Black Caesar), and Woodztoc Hollywood. Off the top, chops are major on this joint. These are some heavy lyricist. Besides the fillers, the hot beats are off the chains. A few of the choruses are butt though. In fact quite a few are. If they spent the same kind of energy on some of these choruses they did on the verses this album would be fatal. "Get That Doe" is the best song on here and wisely put at first on the album. I could see peeps in the club shaking their groove thangz about manishly. The beat is hot! Smoov got busy with it. "Ballerz in BM'z" is another hot joint. Young Have gives it to you raw and uncut. Beat is tight. "Coc In the Ceiling" is definitely one you will remember. Uptempo, dancing track with some real game being displayed. "Do It Big" has one of those classic Bay area beats. Have teams up with Messiah to give you a true Tacoma Classic. My thugs will be bumping this one for sure. |
